Alleged infractions: Ogun lawmakers summon ex-Finance Director, Ilo, others
The Ogun State House of Assembly has summoned a former Director of Finance and Accounts in the State Ministry of Special Duties and Intergovernmental Affairs, Mr. Taiwo Ilo.
Ilo was summoned by the Assembly Committee on Public Accounts and Anti-corruption led by Musefiu Lamidi.
The former Finance Director is to appear before the Committee “to clarify some infractions observed in some expenditure lines of the Ministry as contained in its 2020 audit report.”
NAIJAGAZETTE reports that Mr Ilo was directed to appear before the Committee with other principal officers of the Ministry on August 24, 2022.
While issuing the directive during the consideration of the 2020 audit reports of the Ministry, Lamidi maintained that the concerned officials were invited to provide further clarifications on the record books of the Ministry in the presence of the lawmakers.
Lamidi, thereafter, asked them to provide supporting documents with “details on the construction of Ifo fire service station; procurement of fire service tenders as well as analysis on special project and assignments (homegrown feeding program) and the full details of what constituted ‘other expenses’ in the Ministry’s record book.”
”All documents requested, including invoices, vouchers and receipts, the committee directed, “should be submitted to the Assembly on or before Tuesday, 23rd August 2022.”
